What diameter do you need?

Fibre core or steel core?
Fibre core flexes more for general work. Steel core suits higher loads and crane lines where stretch must stay low.
What corrosion exposure is expected?
Galvanised or stainless rope lasts longer outdoors. Ungalvanised rope is common on indoor cranes with regular inspection.
How will the ends be finished?
Slings need thimbles and correct ferrules or clamps. Never guess termination: wrong fittings reduce rated capacity.
